Graduates
Since 2007 there have been 24 Jump Start sessions.
  • 850 people enrolled, and of those
  • 753 have graduated, approximately 89%

The graduates represent a diverse group.
Ethnicity
  • 33% Caucasian
  • 38% Latino/Hispanic 
  • 18% Asian/Pacific Islander
  • 21% African American
  • and approximately 3% from other ethnic identities 
*The total exceeds 100% as some graduates reported being from more than one ethnic group

Language
  • 53% of Jump Start graduates speak another language in addition to English
  • 38% speak Spanish

Lived Experiences
  • 26% of the graduates are individuals living with mental illness
  • 30% are family members
  • 18% report being both
This makes a total of 74% of Jump Start graduates having direct experiences with individuals who live with mental illness.
Of this group, 67% are working in the mental health or related field.


The graduates are successful.
  • 66% have gained employment since graduation.
  • Of those working, 98% are employed in the mental health or related field
